Tenuta La Castella in Villafranca d’Asti is a historic location ideal for weddings, ceremonies, and special events. “Il Nero delle Murge – breeding of Murgese horses” is located in the municipality of Villafranca d’Asti, in the Castella area.
Managing the breeding and equestrian activity are Davide and Donato, who share not only the same passion but also their lives.
The Murgese horse, of Puglian origin, is associated with a specific area of the Murge region.
These very hot in the summer and cold in the winter territories have given the characteristics of this rustic, robust, and elegant breed.
The qualities of obedience and learning make the Murgese particularly suitable for “country equestrian tourism.”
It is possible to take beautiful horseback rides through the hills that surround the estate, among the numerous woods, hazelnut groves, and truffle grounds. You can also admire from the outside a small Romanesque chapel of the Madonna della Neve located on top of the Vulpilio hill.
In the breeding center, there will be the opportunity to get to know the characteristics of the Murgese breed up close, where you will also find an approved stallion for reproduction and several broodmares.
